Det svenska death metal veteranerna Dismember har nu beslutat att lägga ner bandet. Så här kommenterar deras basist Tobias Cristiansson om det. 

"After 23 years, DISMEMBER have now decided to quit. We wish to thank all our fans for your support."

Deras sista spelning de gjorde var på den tyska festivalen "Death Feast Open Air" som var den 23 Juni 2011 vilket var de festivalen de också spelade på 2008. 

Bandet bildades 1988 och var en av de bandet som bildade genren "Sweden Death Metal". Bandet släppte totalt  8 album 4 singlar, 2 dvder och 4 demos och det sista albumdet de släppte var albumet "Dismember" som kom ut 2008. 

Det amerikanska rockbandet R.E.M. har valt att tacka för sig.

Bandet ses som ett av de mest framgångsrika banden då man talar om alternativ rock och har varit verksamma sedan 1980. Nedan följer information och citat ifrån bandets hemsida, http://remhq.com/.

"During our last tour, and while making Collapse Into Now and putting together this greatest hits retrospective, we started asking ourselves, 'what next'? Working through our music and memories from over three decades was a hell of a journey. We realized that these songs seemed to draw a natural line under the last 31 years of our working together.

"We have always been a band in the truest sense of the word. Brothers who truly love, and respect, each other. We feel kind of like pioneers in this--there's no disharmony here, no falling-outs, no lawyers squaring-off. We've made this decision together, amicably and with each other's best interests at heart. The time just feels right."

MICHAEL

"A wise man once said--'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it.

"I hope our fans realize this wasn't an easy decision; but all things must end, and we wanted to do it right, to do it our way.

"We have to thank all the people who helped us be R.E.M. for these 31 years; our deepest gratitude to those who allowed us to do this. It's been amazing."

"One of the things that was always so great about being in R.E.M. was the fact that the records and the songs we wrote meant as much to our fans as they did to us. It was, and still is, important to us to do right by you. Being a part of your lives has been an unbelievable gift. Thank you.

I know I will be seeing them in the future, just as I know I will be seeing everyone who has followed us and supported us through the years. Rhapsody Of Fire splittras efter 18 år som band

De italienska symfonimetalisterna i Rhapsody Of Fire har bestämt att lägga ner efter en otrolig karriär som spunnit över 18 år. De släppte senast studioalbumet From Chaos To Eternity.

“10 albums released and the end of the saga represent, musically and lyrically, an important artistic goal finally reached, underlined by the success of our last release “From Chaos To Eternity”, for which we want to thank our wonderful fans once again. Now it came the time when new artistic stimulations need to be found, in respect of both parts’ visions and perspectives and of our longtime friendship” say Luca and Alex.

Due to the latest legal agreements actually in force, Alex Staropoli will go on with RHAPSODY OF FIRE having, between the others, Fabio Lione as singer, Tom Hess as guitar player and Alex Holzwarth as drummer. For the same agreements and the original name’s common ownership, Luca Turilli will release his future works with a new RHAPSODY band, including the faithful band members Dominique Leurquin, Patrice Guers and Alex Holzwarth".

Amerikansa power metal-bandet Jag Panzer lägger av

30 år har gått sedan Jag Panzer bildades i Colorado Springs. Bandet hade bland annat en svenskfödd bakom trummorna, nämligen Rikard Stjernquist.

Bandet hade precis anlitat en ny gitarrist på 19 år, då den tidigare lämnat. Jag Panzer hade innan Chris Broderick som gitarrist, men ni som kan historien vet att han lämnade bandet för att Dave Mustaine ville ha honom i Megadeth.

Disturbed tar paus på obestämd tid

När bandets sommarturné är över kommer de att ta en paus på obestämd tid. De har inte angivit vad som kommer att hända med bandet framöver. Det enda som är sagt är att beslutet har tagits på grund av personliga orsaker.

Disturbed är idag ett framgångsrikt hårdrocksband med 13 miljoner album sålda sedan de bildades 1996.
